FlyBalaton Airport Information
FlyBalaton Airport is located within the Sarmellek municipality, outside the southwestern city of Heviz on the edge of Lake Balaton. The distance between the city center and the airport is approximately 11 kilometers, between the airport and shores of Lake Balaton -18 kilometers.
Due to financial problems, FlyBalaton Airport closed on October 10, 2009. The airport reopened to traffic on April 10, 2010 when it welcomed Lufthansa flights from the German cities of Frankfurt and Dusseldorf. FB Airport is the new airport operator owned by a subsidiary of SCD Holding, a Hungarian property development company.
