Geneva International Airport (IATA: GVA, ICAO: LSGG), commonly known as Cointrin Airport, is located 4 km (2.5 mi) northwest of the city centre and has direct connections to motorways, bus lines and railways.
The airport has a single concrete runway, which is the longest in Switzerland with a length of 3,900 m (12,795 ft), and a smaller, parallel, grass runway for light aircraft.

OPENING HOURS OF TERMINAL T1
For security reasons, the terminal T1 is closed from 00:00 am to 04:00 am. The French sector is closed from 11:00 pm to 04:30 am. It is not allowed to stay inside during this time.

GETTING TO GENEVA AIRPORT

The Geneva airport is easy to get to as there are a number of public/private transportation options. These include bus, coach, train, taxi.
The Geneva Airport can also be access from France.

Car
Geneva airport is accessible from motorway A1 exit 6 Geneve Airoport. Once you exit the A1 just follow the airport signs.

Bus
Public buses leave from the departure level.
Bus 10 to the Geneva city centre, leaves every 10 minutes.
Bus 28 to the UN and Lake Geneva or to Meyrin, leaves every 20 minutes.

Train
8 minutes to the Geneva city centre and the Cornavin central train station. Trains leave every 15 minutes. The airport railway station is below ground under the shopping centre.
Tickets can be purchased at machines located in front of the station entrance.

Taxi
There is a taxi stand just in front of the arrivals area. After collecting your luggage, exit customs continue straight, leaving the arrivals building. Once outside you can’t miss the taxi stand.

Hotel Shuttle
A number of hotels near the Geneva Airport have free shuttle service. The shuttle stop is just outside the arrivals area.

CAR PARKS

There are over 5000 parking spaces at the Geneva Airport. They are divided into six car parks. In each the first 10 minutes is free, after that each has its own rate.
Payment is either via machine or payment booth. Machines take Swiss Francs or Euros and accept major credit cards. It is also possible to select your language.

The P1 car park is underground and offers easy access to the main terminal. P1 is for long term parking and has 2,400 spaces. Level -2 is used by car rental agents.

The P2 car park is in front of the arrivals area and has 175 spaces. It is just across from the main exit. It is for short term parking, maximum duration 1 hour.

The P3 car park is for short term parking, there is a 30 minute limit. P3 is just in front of departures and has 90 spaces.

The P20 car park is in the French sector and has long term parking. The P20 has 220 parking spaces.

The P21 car park is in the French sector and is for car hire pick-up and return. The car hire desks are in the French sector terminal near the exit.

The P31-32 car parks are near the train station and shopping centre. They have 590 spaces.

The P51 car park is for long term parking and is accessible via a walk way. This car park has 1,700 spaces.

OPENING HOURS

The car park Control Centre (tel. +4122 717 70 99) on the arrivals level is open 24hrs a day.
The opening hours of the car parks are as follows:
• P1 unlimited: 04:00 to 23:30*
• P2 arrivals: 24hrs
• P3 departures: 24hrs
• P20 French sector: 05:00 to 23:30*
• P31-32-33 railway station: 24hrs
• P51 unlimited: 24hrs
* Closing time adjusted if flights are delayed.


Height of vehicles

If your vehicle is higher than 2 m, you can park in the arrival parking (P2), limited to 2.80 m, to the rate of P1. To do it, having parked your vehicle in P2, it is necessary to go to the cash desk of the Centre de contrôle des parkings with your ticket and to announce that your vehicle is too high for P1.
